Women in Aviation International (WAI) invite local girls ages 8-18, along with a parent/guardian, to participate in WAI's 10th annual Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) hosted by Joby Aviation! This is a FREE family-friendly event for girls interested in learning more about aviation, aerospace, and STEM. Activity stations and speakers will offer the opportunity to learn about types of aircraft, flying as a hobby or career, aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, aviation history, education & career paths, scholarships, and to have FUN while learning!

Registration is required to be done in advance, via the "Register Now" button. Please fill out one form per child. Registration may be available at the event, and will require a parent/guardian. Children may not be dropped off or left unattended. There will need to be at least a chaperone if children are coming with other families or an organized group.
You are welcome to arrive and leave at any time, as the activities are not on a set schedule. However, we recommend arriving early as there are LOTS of activities to participate in! The event will be mostly indoors, with some activities located outside. There will also be a display of aircraft outside to get up and close to, and even some to sit inside of!
Registered participants will receive a GIAD themed SWAG bag and refillable water bottle, FCFS! We ask that everyone else bring their own reusable water bottle, and we will provide water refill stations. We will have additional prizes that will be raffled off throughout the event!

While the spirit of GIAD is to focus on girls in aviation, Joby and GIAD are welcoming of all folks, and boys are welcome to attend too! We ask that a registration form and waiver be filled out for every child.
This is just the recommended range due to the majority of activities being geared towards these ages. However, kids of all ages are welcome! The registration form has options for "Under 8" and "Over 18"
The event is not on a set schedule, so you may come and go as you please. However, we recommend arriving early so the kids have time to experience all the activities that interest them. We will have raffles throughout the day, and you may need to be present to win some of them, but not all!
We encourage you to share this event with your friends, family, troops, clubs, organizations, etc. so we can maximize community participation and connection! We are also welcoming of volunteers with these groups, and ask that there be at least one chaperone per 7 children.
Since the event is short in duration, we do not plan to offer food, but will have beverages available. Participants will receive reusable water bottles, and we encourage their families/chaperones to bring their own refillable bottles to save on single use plastic cups. It is recommended that everyone have a nice breakfast at home. If you'd like to bring your own brown bag lunch, there are picnic tables just outside the building.
The Demographics is so Women In Aviation, Inc can track their outreach! This information is voluntary, but appreciated by the organization. The Photo Waiver is required so WAI may use any photographs of the event for social media, or promoting the event.
